Apprehension, anxiety and fear are common problems for many people who visit the dentist and can prevent them from receiving adequate care.
At Kelmscott Dental, we strive to ensure that your experience is positive which is why we offer a range of treatment options to cater for patients who may suffer from anxiety, phobias or other specific medical conditions. By choosing Kelmscott Dental, you can rest assured knowing you’ll have the option of sleep dentistry in Perth.
Intravenous (IV) Sedation
Commonly known as ‘sleep dentistry’, Intravenous Sedation is an effective option to allow those patients suffering from anxiety to complete their treatment in a relaxed, painless manner. Unlike a general anaesthetic, patients under IV Sedation will remain partially conscious throughout their treatment. During this state, time will seem to pass very quickly meaning patients will remember very little, if any, of their treatment.
This is also a great option for patients who may require extensive or multiple treatments in a single appointment. To ask about this option, please speak to our friendly staff or contact us today.
The option of a General Anaesthetic is also available for our patients who need their wisdom teeth removed or other extractions, implants can also be placed under General Anaesthetic. Under this form of sedation, patients will remain unconscious for the duration of their treatment and only awaken upon its completion.
We offer our General Anaesthetic services at a private hospital in South Perth who are also preferred providers with most major health insurers – minimising your out of pocket costs.
If a patient does require this option, you would need to attend our practice for a consultation with one of our dentists to complete an assessment prior to the hospital appointment being booked.
