Do you want to straighten your teeth, but don’t like the idea of braces? Invisalign® clear aligners are a popular alternative to traditional braces that can be more comfortable to wear and are virtually invisible on the teeth.
Kelmscott Dental is a certified Invisalign provider in Perth. For more information about this treatment and whether it could be an option for you, book an appointment with our dentists today. Call us on (08) 9495 7999 or book online.
Invisalign treatment uses a series of custom-made aligners that can be designed by your dentist to improve the alignment of your teeth.
Invisalign works on a similar principle to orthodontic braces. The aligners apply minor force to teeth that causes them to gradually shift into a better alignment over the course of the treatment.
The main difference from fixed braces is that Invisalign aligners are removable, so they may be taken out when needed. However, we recommend wearing your aligners as much as possible for the best results.
Teeth straightening with Invisalign clear aligners can have a number of advantages over metal braces:
Less noticeable in your mouth, so no one will know you’re having treatment
Can be removed when you need to eat or brush and floss your teeth
Feel more comfortable and cause less irritation in your mouth
Don’t require making changes to your diet or lifestyle
While this can make Invisalign preferable for many people, the treatment isn’t the best choice for everyone. Invisalign cost is usually higher than braces, the treatment relies more on patient compliance, and Invisalign aligners may not be suitable for more complex orthodontic issues.
Our dentists need to complete an orthodontic assessment before we can tell if you’re a candidate for Invisalign at Kelmscott Dental.
Generally, less severe teeth alignment issues such as overbite, open bite and crowded or gapped teeth can be treated with Invisalign clear aligners. If you have more complex orthodontic needs, we may recommend another option such as modern braces.

We offer two types of Invisalign at Kelmscott Dental – Invisalign and Invisalign GO. The main difference is that Invisalign GO is a faster treatment that uses fewer sets of aligners, but it’s not suitable for everyone.
We may recommend Invisalign GO if you only need relatively minor teeth correction. This option uses a maximum of 20 aligners and may be completed in as little as 4 months, depending on how much straightening you need.
Full Invisalign may involve 30 aligners or more and can take 12 months or longer to achieve results, but this may be necessary if more straightening is needed.
Invisalign treatment at Kelmscott Dental is provided by our accredited dentist. We’ll make sure you understand what the treatment involves beforehand so you can decide if it’s right for you or your child.
The first stage of treatment is designing your new smile. We’ll take 3D digital images of your mouth and jaw and use computer software to plan the ideal movement for your teeth. You can preview what your new smile should look like, then we can send these designs to a dental laboratory for your custom aligners to be made.
Invisalign clear aligners are unique to each individual. Your aligners will be custom made to fit over your teeth and encourage gradual movement over time. We’ll provide you with several sets of aligners when you visit us for regular check-ups every 6 to 8 weeks. Each set of aligners should be worn for around 2 weeks before being replaced with the next set.

Invisalign® aligners are a registered medical device. Always read the label and follow instructions for use from your dentist.
We offer two options for Invisalign at Kelmscott Dental: full Invisalign and Invisalign GO.
Invisalign GO works faster than standard Invisalign and uses no more than 20 aligners to straighten teeth, which can be cheaper and more convenient. However, it is only suitable for relatively minor cases.
If you need more straightening than can be achieved with Invisalign GO, our dentists may recommend standard Invisalign or alternatives such as fixed braces.
Invisalign treatment can be effective for treating minor to moderate orthodontic problems. Wearing removable aligners requires more commitment than fixed braces, as they must be worn for at least 22 hours a day to achieve the best results.
If you are not a candidate for Invisalign clear aligners, our dentists in Kelmscott can discuss other teeth straightening options such as tooth-coloured or metal braces.
The cost of Invisalign treatment depends on the Invisalign option you choose and how many aligners you need. Invisalign at Kelmscott Dental costs between $6000 and $8000 on average, but this varies from case to case.
We can give you an accurate Invisalign price after we’ve examined your teeth and created your personal treatment plan. We offer a choice of payment plans if you need help managing your dental costs.
It can take between 4 and 24 months to straighten teeth with Invisalign. This varies from case to case and depends on the type of Invisalign system used and whether you wear your aligners as often as recommended.
We can give you an estimate of your treatment timeline after we examine your teeth and plan your treatment. You will normally have to wear a retainer after the completion of your Invisalign treatment to help maintain your new, straighter smile.
Teeth straightening with Invisalign aligners is more reliable and has a higher chance of success when treatment begins with a face-to-face examination and continues to be supervised by a qualified dentist or orthodontist throughout the treatment duration. Face-to-face examinations allow your dentist to pick up on any oral health concerns that may not have otherwise been identified, prior to starting treatment.
Moving teeth when a patient has untreated tooth decay, gum disease or another dental issue may cause irreversible damage to teeth and gums. Another reason for seeing a dentist for clear aligner treatment is because they can monitor your progress, adjust trays when needed and address any concerns you have.
